    Heavy Vehicle Safety Around Ports - Skin Checks

    Skin Cancer is Australia’s most common form of cancer, with 2 in 3 Australians developing skin cancer before the age of 70. Early detection is vital in saving lives.

    As part of the Heavy Vehicle Safety Around Ports project, all businesses within the Port of Brisbane precinct have the opportunity to receive free skin checks for their workforce during 2019.

    Practitioners will set up on-site at your depot/ office and provide a 15 minute full body skin check assessment for up to 30 of your team. Sessions run from a half day to a full day, depending on participant numbers.

    SPACES ARE LIMITED TO SEVEN BUSINESSES - BE QUICK TO REGISTER!

    To be involved you need:

    • to provide a private room with good lighting, a table, 2 chairs and access to a power point.
    • a minimum of 14 individuals to receive skin check assessments.

    This course runs over 2 weeks - 23rd February and 2nd March 2019, 9am-12pm.

          Employment Relations: Managing People, Awards & Performance

          Delivered by Karen Bow, our experienced Employment Relations Manager. this session will deliver ER and IR advice specific to the road transport sector.  Get equipped with the correct information on performance management procedures, understanding Modern Awards, casual pay rates and termination of employment processes.  Be informed by a trusted provider in the transport industrial relations area.

          • $100 +gst per person for all sessions (full day)

                          This training session will support you to transition from paper based permit applications to using the online portal.  The NHVR staff will provide visual practical guided training using real-time permits on the Portal.  There will be plenty of opportunity to get help with any issues you currently have with applying for permits. Understanding how to use the  will help create efficiencies in your business and save you time.  

                          Maximising the use of Telematics

                          As part of the DigiT&L Futures program, this session will provide you with a better understanding of why and how using telematics in your business will drive efficiency, productivity and safety outcomes. Using real business case studies, you will walk away knowledge on how to use telematics data to improve productivity and fleet management, as well as get insights into future regulatory compliance requirements (including electronic work diaries, fuel tax credit inputs, geo-fencing).

                                      NB: Capacity for NHVR Permit Portal training is 20 attendees. BYO device may be required if numbers exceed this.

                                      Maximising the use of Telematics

                                      This sessions will provide you with a deeper understanding of how to maximise the use telematics in your business to drive efficiency, productivity and safety outcomes.  This will include how to apply and use telematics data to improve productivity and fleet management and give insights into future regulatory compliance requirements.

                                      DIGIT&L FUTURES (Excel Skills) will provide support for existing workers in the transport and logistics industry (across all sectors) to upskill and build knowledge and competency in understanding Microsoft Excel (different levels of training available). Training will be delivered across a number of locations by TAFE Queensland.
